Golden Hour on the Farm: An Indiana Homestead Session

Some sessions feel more like storytelling than photography—and this sweet family’s farm session was exactly that.

Their homestead gave us the most beautiful backdrop: soft golden light, open fields, and the hum of country life all around. Chickens wandered nearby as we explored. Their horses grazed in the distance. The goats—curious and watchful—kept an eye on us from their pen, following us from one end to the other like tiny, silent supervisors.

And when we let their three dogs out for part of the session? Complete, wonderful chaos. Bounding energy, laughter, fur flying—it was wild and so perfectly real.

Their two little girls were in their element, wild and free, giggling through every moment. We captured a mix of timeless portraits, genuine candid joy, and some unforgettable wild-child energy.

These are the sessions I adore. The ones that embrace the beauty of real life—the dirt, the noise, the love. If you're a homesteading or farm family in Muncie or the surrounding areas, I would love to capture a slice of your life too.

Whether your animals roam free or peek at us from behind a fence, whether your farm is sprawling or cozy, there’s magic in the life you’re building—and I’m here for it.
